Support period and refunds
This is here to be read before you decide, not buried in a contract. I stand behind the things I actually control: the delivery date, the scope you and I put in writing, and how fast I answer. I do not promise business results like sales numbers or Google rankings, because nobody controls those.
What is covered and what is not
Covered 60 days after handover
- Bug fixes on anything inside the agreed scope, free, however many times it takes
- A reply within one business day
- Delivery on the date written down before the work starts
- A written contract in English before I start: scope, dates, and who owns the code
- Full source code and documentation in English, so another developer can carry on without me
- Help with setup and go-live problems while you are first running it
Not covered quoted before I start, never after
- New features, or scope changes after the scope is agreed
- Redesigning the whole thing
- Problems coming from third-party services or APIs
- Hosting or servers I do not manage
- Content and data you supply
- Work another developer has changed after handover
Refunds
One rule: work already done is not refunded, and work not yet done is not charged. Whatever the reason for stopping, you keep what has been built and all of the source code. There is no version of this where you pay and walk away with nothing. It is written into every contract before the work starts and it does not change halfway through.
On the money side: once the scope is agreed I send an invoice with the payment instructions on it. Nothing is due before that.
Why there is no refund once the work has started
- Building software is one person spending hours. Hours already spent cannot be put back on the shelf and sold to somebody else, the way a returned product can.
- When I take your project I hold the slot and turn down other work for that period.
- What you get in exchange is real either way: the work done so far and the source code, which another developer can pick up straight away.
- If this part worries you, start small. The $950 security audit is the cheapest thing I sell, and it shows you how I work before you commit to anything bigger.
Reporting a problem
Any channel works. I answer every message myself. There is nobody in between and no automated replies.
If you and I genuinely cannot settle it. I am one developer in Thailand. There is no company behind this, so the contract is with me personally. If something goes wrong and it cannot be worked out directly, you can take it to the Department of Business Development at the Ministry of Commerce, or the Office of the Consumer Protection Board on 1166. Both are Thai government bodies and they work in Thai, which is worth knowing before you rely on that route. I am writing it here myself because you should know it exists before you need it, instead of going looking for it in the middle of a problem.
Not sure about something here? Ask first.
Ask anything about these terms before you decide. Nothing is too small to ask.
I answer straight, including when the answer is that you should not hire me for this.
