Patrol proof, shift rosters and gate control for security contractors

Your clients judge you on two things: whether the rounds actually happened, and whether the right guard turned up for the shift. So this is two systems, not one ladder. Patrol proves the rounds with a QR scan from the guard's own phone. Shift builds the roster and catches a double booking days before the shift. They cost the same, and either one runs on its own, so you can buy the problem that is costing you now. Take both and the pair costs less than buying them one at a time. Fixed price, paid once, and the system belongs to you.

This is for you if any of this sounds familiar

You pay someone to check that the patrols happened

A supervisor driving between sites at night is a second wage on top of the guards, and it still only covers the sites he reaches before dawn. A scan at the checkpoint does the same job on every site at once, and leaves a record you can hand to the client.

You hear about the missed round from the client, not from the system

By the time the complaint arrives the shift is over, the guard has gone home, and nobody can say what happened. An alert on the supervisor's phone the moment a round slips turns a month-end argument into a five-minute fix.

The roster is a spreadsheet, and the clashes surface on the day

One name lands on two sites in the same shift, or on two shifts back to back, and nobody sees it until a post stands empty. Swap requests arrive over chat and get lost between the messages.

Handwritten daily reports prove nothing, at review or at tender

A copied-out logbook is only as good as the client's willingness to believe it. When a contract comes up for renewal, or you bid against a firm the client has never used, a record written as it happened is the thing you can put on the table.

These are full project prices, not starting points that grow later. If anything falls outside the scope, I tell you the number before I start on it.

Patrol
Patrol rounds
$1,990
Delivered in 7–10 business days
  • Guards scan a QR at each point on their own phone. Nothing to install, no clocking device to buy
  • The manager screen shows every point live, green, amber or red, each one counting down
  • A missed round reaches the supervisor's phone straight away, not at the end of the month
  • The daily report writes itself, laid out like the paper form you already hand the client
  • This package is patrol rounds only. Rosters, vehicle gate and a second site are not part of it

Shift
Shift rosters
$1,650
Delivered in 7–10 business days
  • Every site and every shift on one screen, changed with a tap, with the history kept
  • One guard on two sites in the same shift turns red, a 16 hour double turns amber, flagged before the day arrives
  • Guards request a swap from their phone, the supervisor approves, and the system tells them both
  • Guards check their own coming shifts on their phone instead of ringing the supervisor
  • A separate system from Patrol, sold on its own and usable with no patrol system in place. QR patrol rounds are not part of it

Complete
Both systems, best value
$3,290
Delivered in 10–14 business days
Patrol and Shift, joined into one system
  • Both systems in full, for less than the two packages bought separately
  • The two talk to each other, so the system knows who is on shift at that site
  • A missed round names the guard on duty, with no roster to open and search
  • The daily report carries the name from the real roster, entered once
  • One manager screen for both, across the whole company

How it works, from first message to launch

1

Click the demo before you talk to me

The demo on this page is open and free. Walk a round, watch a checkpoint go amber, then open the roster and try to create a clash on purpose. No form, no call.

2

Pick the system that hurts today

If your rounds are already tight but the roster is chaos, take Shift. If it is the other way round, take Patrol. If both, Complete costs less than the two apart. Prices are fixed, so there is no quote to wait for.

3

Choose how you pay, then I start

Pay in full and take 3% off, or split it 50/50 and settle the rest once you have checked the working system. Either way you watch it come together rather than seeing it only at the end. Send me your checkpoint list and guard names and the build starts the same week.

4

Handover in your name

Code and hosting sit in your accounts from day one. One training session for your supervisors with a recording they can replay, the full documents, and support after delivery.

Questions people ask about this service

Why not just buy an off-the-shelf guard tour app?

Packaged apps charge per guard per month, for as long as you use them, and they expect your company to work the way the software does. This is built once around the round sheets and shift patterns you already run, and after handover it is yours: no monthly fee to me, your data on hosting in your own name, and a daily report that matches the form your client already accepts. If a packaged app genuinely fits how you work, it is cheaper, and I will tell you so rather than sell you a build.

Do guards install an app? Do we buy scanning hardware?

Neither. A guard opens the link in the phone browser they already carry and scans the QR at the point. Nothing from an app store, no wands, no docking station to collect at the end of a shift. The labels print on ordinary paper or sticker stock from your own printer, and you print replacements yourself whenever a point moves.

Does this track where my guards are?

No. There is no GPS trail and no location running in the background. The system records a scan at a checkpoint at a time, which is what proves the round, and nothing beyond that. It is a deliberate choice: it gives the client the evidence they ask for, and it keeps you out of an argument with your own staff and their union.

We only need one of the two. Do we have to buy Patrol before Shift?

No. Patrol and Shift are separate systems, and either one runs perfectly well on its own. Buy whichever problem is costing you now. If you later decide you want the other as well, adding it afterwards is $1,650, which works out $350 more than taking Complete at the start. Worth deciding once rather than twice, but nothing is lost if you cannot.

What happens when a site has no mobile signal?

The browser version needs a connection at the moment of the scan, so a basement car park or a plant room deep inside a building can be a problem. The Android add-on holds the scan on the phone and sends it as soon as signal returns, keeping the times as they actually happened. If you already know a site is bad for signal, tell me before you buy and I will say plainly whether you need it.

How does the vehicle gate part get priced?

By which of three approaches you choose. QR stickers on residents' windscreens cost nothing per entry and suit a fixed set of known vehicles. A phone photo of the plate lets the system read the number for your officer to confirm every time, and carries a per-image charge from the reading service, paid at their published rate with nothing added by me. A fixed camera at the gate adds equipment and installation. I price it once you have picked, and it is quoted separately from the package.

Can another developer take it over later?

Yes. The code and the hosting are in your accounts from day one, with handover documents written for somebody who has never met me. I do not keep clients by hiding how the thing works.
